No matter how hard I try to control myself. I cannot help it. Sify Broadband sucks. 8 months on this network and I have just 1 month when it worked totally fine for me. And even after 8 months where am I?

I have 12 phone numbers in my diary related to Sify. Most of them are as good as useless as everyone there tells me to call the next person. I do not have a power backup even after repeated complaints to the CTO and Sify Customer care. Day time the speed of net sucks. Night time, if the network goes down I don’t have any one to call. If there is a power fluctuation, due to lack of proper backup in the network some or the other switch just hangs driving my speeds from 4-5 KBps to somewhere in the region or 200-400 bytes per second.

And today. The net was atrociously slow in the day. So, I decided to sleep and work at night. I started my work at 1 am and got this message on the login page that the network will be down for maintenance for 2 hours from 2AM to 4 AM. So, I sat like an ass on the computer doing some offline writing waiting for the clock to tick 4 AM. 4:20 AM, the net was still down. So, I called the call center asking why it was still down. So, I get this response. The maintenance will go on for further 2 hours and net services should resume by 6 AM. Very smart. I do not know about others, but this completely ruined my work schedule. I have deadlines to meet which depends upon my internet connection. And with reliability like this… I don’t think I can even promise anyone when he can meet me online so that we can discuss things about the work. OK, the system is down for maintenance, but how difficult is it for them to generate the same message about the 2 hours delay on the login page? There is no fucking way for me to find out when the net services has resumed other than to sit like an ass here clicking refresh on the login page. Because the ping works fine that means the system is online. And the worst thing… even when the net is working… the pings to external sites is banned. So, I have no way to know that the net has gone down without actually being online visiting some sites.

Nice… Very nice.

Update: And the fact that it started working at 4:50AM is even worse… Considering I normally would have gone to sleep waiting for morning. How ill informed can the call center guys be?
