BSNL aiming to provide 2 crore mobile connections this year
BSNL is aiming high this year. The company has just raised the speeds of internet access of their broadband service users to up to 2 mbps.
And now BSNL has said that they aim to provide two crore mobile phone connections annually for the next three years.
The company would add a port capacity of five million in 2007.
BSNL said that they would focus on enhancing telephone network in the rural areas. In addition, they would provide all future connections with functionalities including Caller Line Identification (CLIP) facility.
They are also aiming to gradually replace all the instruments of their customers with one having caller line features.
The company added that their revenues touched Rs 40,000 crore in 2005-06. This is a massive improvement from revenues of Rs 21,000 crore in 2000.
