Mobile operators in India to launch mobile instant messaging
The mobile users in the Indian market have something to look forward to as the GSM operators are together launching a new service named mobile instant messaging.
This service would allow the mobile users to interact with their friends and relatives using their mobiles like they do on computer based instant messaging services.
All the 10 GSM service providers in the country are going to launch this service on their networks. This service would allow real time chatting among mobile users. Users would also be able to see which of their friends are online on the service on their mobile devices.
Users would also be able to communicate with users who are online on their personal computers.
This service would however require the handset to have GPRS facility. Initially, MIM would be offered only in English language. Though the companies are working on expanding the languages supported by this service.
