Rumors: Airtel has unofficially launched 2mbps packages!

Just got this new post on the Indian Broadband Forum. A user has reported that a friend of his has been offered some new plans on his Airtel Broadband connection.

These new plans made available on a hand written paper included some “up to 2 Mb/s” plans.

We are yet to receive a printed copy of these unofficially launched packages. We feel they are similar to the earlier reported PowerPoint slides.

We should get access to a copy of the printed brochure soon. We assume these would be data transfer limited packages and the speeds won’t be available on unlimited download plans.

We seriously are hoping that the company at least doubles the speeds of the users who are on unlimited plans.

If they cannot do it, at least provide 80% of the offered speeds. Readers might already know that Airtel promise only 50% of the advertised speeds on all their packages.
