My experience has been similar to you and I am posting it for your opinion.
You have mentioned about Bharti Touchtel DSL? Is it available in Chandigarh.

I hold Satyam broadband user id aditya6151. I have been using Satyam Broadband since Dec 2003.In the last one week ,the quality of service given to me by your broadband operator Mr.B.S.Bhullar of Dream Merchants.Com has been so bad that it is worth passing on this information to you. This is more so since I had a very high opinion of your Broadband Service.The problem is this—- My Satyam broadband connection( which keeps on getting down of and on) got down on Monday 16th August 2004.I brought this fact to the notice of Mr. B.S.Bhullar (Managing Partner) Dream Merchants.Com mobile number 9814696070 and his colleague Mr. Sanjay Gupta i.e. the local operators for Satyam Broadband. From Monday onwards till Friday Night that is 20th August 2004 ,I constantly kept on requesting these two operators for repairing my connection but all my efforts were to no avail. On Thursday evening I was told that the fault was in the cable and it would be repaired by Friday. When the fault was not repaired on Friday evening I again rang Mr. Bhullar to do the needful. However he refused to pick up his mobile phone. Having waited for 5 continuous days, I felt that enough was enough and thought of writing a formal complaint to Satyam Broadband.
Considering the attitude of the broadband operators of Satyam in Chandigarh, I have decided to never renew or recommend a new connection of Satyam Broadband to anybody.
I don’t expect much from a big company like Satyam on this problem of mine but I feel the record must be set straight in case your company decides to do something on this .

Update: Last I talked to him, his connection was fixed on complaining with the local Sify representative. He seems to be happy now!

Hi, I was reading this and its totally correct. I tell to my friends in Australia and other places what broadband is. They say this is worse than a dialup the plans and the service offered by SIFY. Do they even know what BROADBAND means.. Access at 48KBPS which gives me a download speed of around 2-3 kbps is what? Broadband? My HUTCH GPRS from the mobile used to transfer faster than that. Period.
Sify — Satyam Infoway, one of the biggest names in the industry offers such a crap service is something worthy to be noted by everyone. I have no idea why they are even existant. Their call centre service sucks. Their local dealers have attitude. They wont come on time when called. Everytime the phone is engaged? May be they themselves use MTNL Dialup.. hahahahahahahhahahaha..
Whatever.. But the service is totally disappointing. Given a chance I would like to go and talk to the CEO of Sify and the head of operations of SIFY Internet. Their service is really really down the gutter.

Wat the fuck yyou call this broadband.i had to literally beg my parents to get a broadband connection for downloading songs n stuff but what i get is total waste og time and money.if you call this broadband i call BSNL dial up as fibre radio innet…hahaha…….you people at satyam are total ass kissers you ppl should be taken to court.Like when i used to download stuff from the net using BSNL dial up i had a speed of around 4-5kbps……n then i use ur over priced ass kisser cable services n it literally just gives me around 2.5 kbps-3kbps….now tell me what should i do….YOU PPL AT SATYAM ARE TOTAL ASS KISSERS

Hi, this is asheesh, a client of Sify broadband. its been very sorry to say that Sify (a Big repputed company), has a pathetic customer service. Four days back when sify’s server was down and then ,
I called up the customercare service, about 8-9 times, and every time they put me on hold, by saying just a min.(it was around 1.00 A.M. in the morning).
Now, when i asked them to give me the E-Mail ID of there CEO, they tried 2 misguide me by giving the E-Mail ID of their Team leader Mr. Anand Gupta. I felt cheated.
Now, there is another problem, I renewed my account on 15-MAY-2005, and my expiry date was 14-JUNE-2005, but My account got expired on
1-JUNE-2005. i dont know.WHY?
When i called again at sify 2 days latter, they gave me the reason that your download was too much. But NOBODY had told me about this before when i was about to get the sify connection. My package was the UNLIMITED one, and they had never mentioned this in there cataloge. They have surely cheated my and my family.
Sify u r pathetic, AND i will make sure that people in my knowledge do not get Sify Broadband. NEVER EVER.

This is Manjunath Thandu with CA (Computer Associates Int.) residing in Mogappair Eri Scheme, Chennai-58. I am having some serious problems with your lack of service.
I had given a check on 23rd NOV 05 for the broad band connection and was told that the connection would be given in 5-7 days.
I spoke with one of your field Manager/Engineers PUVITH RAJAN for three days requesting him to have the wiring done. SORRY TO MENTION THIS, I HAVE NOT SEEN AN IRRESPONSIBLE & A DISGUSTING PERSON LIKE HIM IN SUCH A DESIGNATION. When I questioned him about the delay in connections, he had the cheek to reply â??Sify will not loose anything if one customer like you takes back the connectionâ?? (in exact words).
On the 8th day, I had to talk to one of your Customer care Managers Suchitra. SHE WAS VERY HELPFUL. I would really appreciate the efforts and follow ups done by Suchitra for the Initial wiring process. A field engineer who had come to my place in the 1st week of Nov did the wiring, but he was not able to complete it as the SWITCH was 180 meters away from my house. He promised to have the setup completed the next day. But no one has even bothered to enquire about the same.
I would appreciate some immediate action on this issue.

The service provided by satyam is so poor that even the Local cable operator provides better service. The Customer care people are big fu..kers.
I am having a lot of problems with Sifi which is the
only ISP providing broadband in my area. Their service is pathetic and also their business sense.
At first it so happened that I had a Plan which was
night unlimited 256 KBPS. I had recharged for 2 months and everything wasfine. One day when I logged in, it gave a message Account Expired, I didn’t know why as still there were 1.5 Months left for my account to expire. Then on
asking to Sifi I came to know that suddenly they changed their plan
from Night Unlimited to Night and Weekends unlimited
with one condition that if during day time you download more than 150 MB then on every 20 MB extra they would deduct 1 day of your plan. I didn’t knew the change
in their business model and generally I used to download whole night and next day after 8:00 AM the account used to stop, but that Saturday whole of my account was eaten up as I downloaded more than 1 GB by mistake.
Good business plan, how much money would they have
gained from me by providing free internet for weekends, 1000 Rupees, that really making fool of their customers.
Next my Internet was not working as there was a
problem with LAN wires. I called the customer care and complaint the first day. I had to call everyday and it tool 15 days for my connection to be repaired. I asked
for the compensation then they said yes we will compensate you when you recharge your account next time.
I recharged my account in hope that they will
reimburse me the 15 days which were lost when the account didn’t work. I paid a check of 561 Rupees plus Rupees 100 which they always take and is not accounted for.
When I logged in in the Night I came to know that my
plan has been changed from Night Unlimited (256 KBPS) to some family plan (64 KBPS).
Its 10 days now I have been repeatedly calling the
Sifi people both the local vendor and their Support center. Nothing has been done so far.
Everyday I call they say “We are extremely sorry for
the Inconvenience and your problem will be resolved immediately” but when I check my account remains same (64 KBPS).
Also when you call their support center it takes a lot
of time to connect around 1 Min for Announcing their stupid
change in number message and the phone lines they are having is so poor that you will have to repeat your words at least 3 to 4 times before the person on the line can understand you.
I asked the support guy to transfer the line to his
manager and he never handed over the line to manager instead he cuts the phone or take my number and says that his manager is busy right now and will call me back after sometime.
Neither the manager called not the guy called.
I Short they are making fool of the people, they know
the fact that anyone will not go to consumer forum for few thousand rupees.
If you have a choice do not choose Sifi as your ISP.

nt getting satisfactory results from SIFY broanBand, iam using 256kbps unlimited download package. but it seem that that Sify has lost there credibility because from more than 10time i have conplained to the customer care but nothing came out of that as iam getting just 40kbps speed.
