Tata Teleservices launches Motofone F3c for Rs. 1699
Tata Teleservices has become the first mobile service provider in the world to make available the Motorola Inc.’s Motofone F3c to their customers.
This mobile phone is first of its kind as it uses a single-chip CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) platform from Qualcomm.
The company is selling this phone at a price of Rs. 1699 (USD 38.37). Tata is one of several mobile service providers in India to be using the CDMA platform.
Kanwalinder Singh, president of Qualcomm India said in a statement that this launch would be followed by the phone’s launch in other emerging markets.
The phone is powered with a Qualcomm Single Chip (QSC) platform which combines the radio transceiver, baseband functions and power management into a single chip. This lowers the cost of the final product.
