Tata Teleservices to invest Rs 3,500 crore for expansion
Indian telecom company Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has said that they are planning to invest as much as Rs 3,500 crore in the next fiscal for expanding services across the country.
The company is also planning to spin off its cellular towers into a separate unit. They could sell this division in the market in the coming years.
Company CEO Darryl Green said in a statement: “Towers are passive infrastructure. We are actively discussing with various companies on having them take over the business. Just about everyone you’ve heard of has been in talks with us.”
He added on the company’s expansion plans: “We will add more cell sites and reach out to another 1,000 towns and if we get the spectrum, we will roll out 3G services as well.”
They have already applied for licenses to roll out services in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and the rest of the North East.
