Access Deficit Charges reduced. International calls to be cheaper now
The Telecom Regulatory and Development Authority has announced a steep cut in the Access Deficit Charges (ADC) paid by the telecom companies.
This would enable them to provide cheaper international calls benefitting the end customer.
The TRAI has effectively abolished the ADC on outgoing ILD calls. It has also been reduced on the incoming international calls.
They have now instructed the telecom companies to pass on the benefit to the end customer. Calls are now expected to fall down starting early next month.
Market sources say that this new ruling would help the telecom operators to have greater flexibility to fix their tariffs and make innovations on packages offered to consumers.
