BSNL to invest a lot to expand presence
State owned telecom company BSNL has said that they are planning to invest a lot in the Indian market to expand their presence.
The company is working hard on expanding their network and infrastructure. BSNL is now expecting to double its gross annual revenue to around Rs 90,000 crore by 2010.
Mr. AK Sinha, chairman and managing director of BSNL spoke on their plans: “We have been unable to expand due to constraints on the supply side. Now procurements are on to expand the infrastructure and we will spend Rs 20,000 crore over the next few years for the purpose. We expect to add 108 million telephone lines by the end of 2010.”
He added that the company is currently expected to earn a gross revenue of around Rs 40,000 crore in the financial year 2007-08. The mobile division of the company itself is expected to earn them around Rs 10,000 crore.
Sinha added: “The gross profit will be around Rs 9,000 crore. We are eyeing a growth of about six to seven per cent in the next year.”
