BSNL working on launching Broadband Multiplay service

State owned telecom company BSNL has announced that they are all set to launch a series of new services under the Broadband Multiplay brand.

This new service package would feature voice, video and Internet protocol television (IPTV) services. The company claims that this new service would enable broadband speeds of eight MBPS.

The IPTV aspect of the service would enable the customer to get content on demand. They plan to offer the set top box to use this service on rental and purchase basis.

BSNL would be launching this service in as many as 789 cities all over the country shortly. They are already working on establishing the required infrastructure in place.

The company added that they are also working on a futuristic technology `Fiber to the home’. They are currently in final stage of technical valuation. This is expected to be launched in the country by the end of the year.
