Why does Sify’s move make me angry?

Will Sify recover my data for me in case their Antivirus fail to protect my system from some insane virus?
First, they do not give a decent enough reason on why they are moving from a browser based login system which apparently is OS independent to a client based system. Agreed there are only 3 popular operating systems out there, Windows OS, Linux and Mac OS. But there might be instances where I want to try out BeOS or any other operating system… Client based Login Systems are also something which would stay on all the time on the system eating away system RAM. And what if the software stops working with Windows system due to some clash with other software? My TV Tuner Card software crashes out everything I try to run it… the only possible way to get it working seems to be reinstalling the operating system… Same thing can happen with the Sify’s Login Client. I hated 24×7 online system’s login client for this particular reason… Stayed in the system tray eating away 5 Megs of RAM for no apparent system. Now Sify does the same.
Another reason is of course the fact that it won’t work unless I remove my existing Antivirus. This totally freaks me out. How do they expect to tell their corporate clients that if they want to use Sify Broadband they will have to start using SecureSynergy instead of their current software solution? What possible logic justifies they forceful idiotic clause of getting me uses their business partner’s software? If they tell me to use it, will they provide support for it? What if my system suffers hack attacks or viruses with their software? Will they provide data recovery facilities? They clarify nothing.
Do they ever research what their users want? From what I have heard through this Blog, users are more interested in better connectivity, decent CTOs, good speeds. I have long been asking for a better speed unlimited bandwidth package… But they don’t think its worth having. Maybe they can start spending more time improving on their networks… educating their CTOs on how to monitor networks and stop harassing the end users… But no… They think a software based login system that forces me to use some unknown antivirus solution makes more sense.

Not True, They do have an option where they can disable at the backend an automatic installation of the Secure synergy Antivirus. I had that done for me. You will have to call up their CS and tell them that you would not like their free anti-virus software. They will ask you for your IP address and your user ID to do so.

Forcing users to use a specific software is definitely unfair business practice and I am thinking to go to consumer court against sify. Anyone willing to support me?
Sify CTOs charge extra money for “line maintenance”. Sify never disclosed this cost when i signed up for their service. When contacted- sify does no have a satisfactory answer.
I have not been able to connect to internet since 2 days because i use Norton Antivirus. Customer care never responds…
Please contact me if other people want to raise a voice against this.
thanks
