Microsoft and VSNL to provide email service ReadyAccess to mobile network operators
Research in Motion already has made its mark in the Indian market with the launch of their blackberry services through Airtel and Hutch.
Microsoft now aims to counter their challenge with their own solutions which they would now offer through the state owned telecom company VSNL.
The two companies would now offer email service to mobile network operators (MNOs) worldwide.
Microsoft has said in a statement that they would now offer hosted Microsoft Exchange solution — ReadyAccess to MNOs.
This would enable them to offer their customers “a superior quality end-to-end business messaging and collaboration solution with added push email connectivity in a cost-effective and expedited manner”.
Incidentally, VSNL is now the first global provider to bring this collaboration service to enterprise customers in India in alliance with Microsoft.
VSNL International MD Vinod Kumar spoke on this new development: “Going beyond push email services, MNOs can now offer critical enterprise messaging solutions bundled with data services on a subscription basis, thus gaining significant customer loyalty.”
