Tata Sky removes channels disappointing customers
DTH service provider Tata Sky seems to be working hard on annoying their customers. The company has not added any new decent channel in the recent times. And they have just removed a couple of channels from the Zee network.
User inputs suggest that the company has removed channels including Zee Classic, Zee Action, Zee Music, and ETC Music from their service network.
The company also recently updated the firmware of their set top boxes which now forbids the user to add any third party free to air channel.
Tata Sky is also just providing one package to their subscribers. This has totally negated the notion that DTH services would give choices to customers.

In fact, the customers are suffering as cable TV operators in most regions are now providing more channels at comparable rates to their subscribers.

This is just a eyewash.
I have gone through the judgment of the case (available on net at tdsat.nic.in). This case was filed by TATAKY against Zee for providing them channels with all bouquets at a price of Rs.83.85 and whereas TATASKy wanted only 02 bouquet comprising of 19 channels. Now they will be getting 19 Channels as liked by TATASKY at a price of 50 % of Rs 83.85 i.e. reduction in RS. 42/ per customer.
Tatasky has not reduced the prices and saved RS. 42 per customer. What a trick to earn revenue and be befool customers. I think TRAI should take look into such malpractices suo moto and asked TATASKY to maintain the same channels as offered in the initial package or to reduce the price by same.
The advertisement that TATASKY gave is also eyewash and bad since it influences the customers connoting that Tatasky is helpless since it is court order whereas this is not the case. I hope somebody is looking into it and will take action. I tried to e-mail TRAI but unfortunately mail bounced back.

Tata Sky is playing with customers and the Government is watching mum like a big fool. In the time when Tatasky need to add many popular channels, they are withdrawing. What the hell they are doing. They should be levied high penalties for that.

Tata Sky a Big mistake in Indian sky We all thought that Tata Sky would be a professional organisation but they are really a big mistake they are not able to provide basic popular channels and also charging premium rates for nothing calling super saver package with only one package how can one package alone be called super saver? And the way they have sorted the channels is something very funny for eg. BBC CNBC CNN IBN both BBC and CNN are international news channel what is a business channel doing in between and IBN is a national news channel at last. Check out and you will find more …

Tata Sky a Big mistake in Indian sky We all thought that Tata Sky would be a professional organisation but they are really a big mistake they are not able to provide basic popular channels and also charging premium rates for nothing calling super saver package with only one package how can one package alone be called super saver? And the way they have sorted the channels is something very funny for eg. tata sky is just fooling around saving money but not passing benefits to consumers.at same price disthtv is showing more chanells. what is use of tatasky when you donot get even channels available on cable. i think no sikh family should buy it as they have pulled plug off etc punjabi showing live gurbani from shri darbar sahib even though it is free to air and available on dd direct plus.

As of the tata sky has taken out the channels,and promised of giving the new popular channels , All popular channels are moving i dont know what will be the popularity of forthcoming channels , as tata sky is providing some chanels like CNN IBN , BBC etc, but these channels cannot privude the entertengment as removed channels , Tata sky should know that most of the indians show more interest in social entertainment channels not in news channels

I am happy that the Tatasky are providing the channels in DVD quality picture and CD quality sound, and there is no second opnion, As of now the Tatasky is a new process and I understand that it takes time to establish its popularity, Quality is not cheap, i can understand that dropping of channel had made impact on customers but that is a business and they are trying for new popular channel to be introduced. If any person buys a product he sees cost i accept but he does not get quality,
In future Tatasky will be in such position that dominates the domestic market

Well after 7 months taking off ETC Punjabi channel Tata Sky has finally approached the Punjab High Court against Zee and Etc to provide them signals of ETC Punjabi at par with DD. lets hope the matter is resolved ASAP for all to watch Live Gurbani from Golden Temple

I am user of Dish TV within last 3 years. But now I have instal a Tata Sky STB. After installation now I am feeling that Dish Tv is much Better than Tata Sky. I feel only Tata Sky gives picture quality not more pay channels and FTA challes. But Dish Tv provides both a lot of channel and FTA channels also. Dish Tv always provides more and more music and intertainment channels. But Tata Sky have not more Music Channels such as Enrerr10, Zee Music, ETC, b4u, Play Tv. I think It is the negative point of the Tata Sky, I am not satisfied with the Tata Sky, I think have lost my money. I suggest Tata Sky sholud have more music channels. If you want to buy a DTH I suggest to you that Dish Tv is a better option for all of you.

tata sky is not at all a good one compairing with other international service provider wherein you can tune any channel you want they keep the tuner locked always which sucks……….

as i am living in orissa,as my blood is meant for orissa i strongly appeal to tata sky management kindly add OTV chhannel in tata sky platform as there are so many chhanels in telugu, tamil why not in oriya

hi,may be Tata sky is good for other states but not for Orissa.Mailnly it provides only two Oriya channels for Orissa people,But it provides more channels in Tamil,telgu and Other language.So I think One More Oriya Channels should be necessary for us..
