Dataone Quick Usage Finder
Sunish Issac has released a new freeware open source utility for all the BSNL DataOne users to keep a check on their broadband usage.
The application has been named Dataone Quick Usage Finder and it also takes care of scheduled dial up connection and disconnection for Night Unlimited plans.
Features as mentioned by the developer:
Really Quick summary with very few clicks.
Less bandwidth consumption as all pages are not downloaded for getting the summary.
More reliable statistics, as its the same as what BSNL provides on their site.
Old months logs do work with old tariff and bandwidth limits
Dial up Connection and disconnection scheduler for Night Unlimited Plans
(Its always safe and better to do this or you’ll have problems since BSNL’s bill is based on the time
you started the connection and your night unlimited will have no benefit.)
Auto detect Plan and usage limit according to the actual plan subscribed which minimizes user input.
The last updated date and time is same as the last record found on BSNL site, so you can be cautious on the usage, if BSNL site is not updated.
The application has been successfully tested on Windows XP Professional SP2 with IE6/7. Disk space usage is minimal at less than 1 MB.
The application has received softpedia certification as 100% adware ,spyware ,trojan free.

Is this new application or new version?? Because i’m using this kind of data one monitor which is number one in maintaining all the records and showing us graphically, that how much we have downloaded and uploaded.

I am having the broad band connection,with telephone No 2561114 in Indore.I had complained to the dept regarding the interuption of the broad band services,on 6th July ‘07.Now 7th and 8th being holidays I am compelled to wait for the relief measures-because there was no response on the telephone in the deptt.Being an activated customer-when he feels the connectivity problem during the odd hours -and when he has to complete the job, such default in the connectivity lead him for the harrassmentand mental torture.
Moreover, being a PSU unit the employees have the right to enjoy the intervals of holidays and off hours.Now I am at a loss to understand for the timely assistance to the customer.I feel that it is the commercial organisation and there shoulb be a remedy to solve the problems in such situation of odd hours.
May be the defective old telephone cable or whatsoever the technical reason-I feel it should be solved on the priority.

I was told at the time of installation of broadband (Home plan 250) that I should use on an average 2 hours per day. If there is a time restriction, why do you call it broadband?

we coudn’t get our usage account.how we get it?
And also we have a problem in logging into http://www.data.bsnl.in
we applied and paid for type-2 modem(i.e wireless)but connection was made basing on type-1 modem.we had also complained to the authorities at chandramouli nagar branch,Guntur,Andhra Pradesh.Till now no action was taken.What more should we do inorder to get type-2 modem.

absolutly irresponsible are the concerned authorities of bsnl.the fecility tosee the account useage is not functional atall for months together. kindly do somthing imdtly.

One of my friends asked a BSNL rep about checking usage less free usage. he asked to use a calculator. BTW we might be able to check usage in case our ip starts in 117.XXX by going to http://bbservice.bsnl.in/ But it shows the total and not less free use.

Here is my bad experience with BSNL (BSNL-Both Sides Not Listening). I needed broadband connection at Maruthisevangar, Bangalore, the IT capital of India. For broadband, I applied for new phone connection along with broadband in 1st week of February 2008. After about 6 visits to Kamanhalli Telephone exchange, i finally got a landline connection in 3rd week of March 2008. I had to pay the linemen a small bakshish for this too. Now, nobody at the exchange knows the status about my broadband connection. Instead, they ask me if i applied for broadband. I am told broadband will take more time. Until then, they tell me to use the landline and pay the bill for landline usage. First of all, i have mobiles, so i really dont need Bsnl landline. I only want broadband connection because of which i applied for bsnl landline. But i got landline without broadband connection. I dont know why bsnl keep advertizing there broadband service everywhere if they are incapable of providing it even in the heart of Bangalore. If this is the case in Bangalore, what about rest of India??? Is Bsnl listening???
