Bharti Airtel IPTV expected to be launched by the end of the year
We have been waiting for the launch of Bharti Airtel IPTV since months now. The wait has been so long that we here at TechWhack ended up purchasing a Zee Dish TV connection.
The company continues to say that they are now planning to launch the service by the end of the year.
Bharti would target high-end consumers of the top 6-7 cities to launch this service. They had been testing the service in 1,000 households in Gurgaon.
The launch would take place in Delhi and would be expanded to other cities including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Jaipur.
Incidentally, they are also working on launching their DTH services. We have inside information that the company has already tied up with a marketing agency to launch the Airtel DTH marketing campaign.
Bharti is collaborating with UTStarcom for their IPTV service launch in the Indian market.
