Bharti Airtel set to sign a mega deal with Ericsson
Economic Times has reported citing unnamed sources that India’s largest mobile service provider Bharti Airtel is set to enter a three-year, $1.5 billion network outsourcing deal with Sweden’s Ericsson.
The report said that Ericsson would be responsible for design, planning, supply, installation, commissioning and upgrading of Bharti Airtel network in 15 telecom circles.
None of the involved companies have yet commented on this report published in the Economic Times.
Bharti had recently said that they were in talks with telecom equipment maker Ericsson for a network expansion deal.
Incidentally, Bharti had also signed a similar contract worth $900 million with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN).
