MTNL broadband customers gets cheaper ISD calls through VoIP technology
MTNL has announced that starting today, their broadband customers in Delhi and Mumbai would be able to make international calls to any part of the world for as low as Re 1 per minute.
These calls would be routed through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and the customers would be able to make these calls through their phone instrument.
The company added that customers would also be able to use MTNL’s internet telephony through their personal computers to make PC to PC call at even more cheap rates.
MTNL is collaborating with Aksh Optifibre to offer the VoIP service to their broadband customers.
Customers not having a PC at home would be required to purchase an Analog Telephone Adapter (ADA) from the company for Rs 1,500. This device would handle the VoIP calls for the customer.

Internet telephony is a long waitng service in India, which is deferring fast growth of export bussiness and other cross country matters including social communication. The service should be extended all over India besides metros soon.BSNL should take over the net telephony service since other service provider such as sify.com etc are not reliable at all and internet customers of BSNL are debarred from such services.
