Vodafone brand in India
Mobile service provider Vodafone has announced that they would begin using their brand name in the Indian market starting tomorrow.
The company acquired a majority stake in one of the major service providers Hutch in the Indian market.
Vodafone said in a statement that the brand changeover in India would involve one of the world’s biggest-ever rebranding campaigns.
Experts believe that the company needs to be successful in the Indian market to continue growing in this rather competitive industry.
Company’s Indian representative Harit Nagpal said in a statement: “This transition is probably the largest brand change ever undertaken in this country and arguably as big as any in the world. It touches over 35 million customers and 400,000 shops.”
Their formal Indian business name is Vodafone Essar as part of the company is owned by Essar Group.
