BSNL doing a Vodafone as it revamps the brand names

Vodafone arrived in the Indian market with a big bang. Anyone who watched even a little bit of television would know that Hutch is now Vodafone!

BSNL now plans to do something similar with their several brand names. The company has announced their decision to bring seven of its brands under a common identity.

This also includes changing the color of their corporate logo from blue to black.

This move is aimed to create a more unified brand which offers a variety of services. Just like Bharti does with its Airtel brand.

The company added that a unified brand would help generate more awareness amongst their customers.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited

DataOne Broadband is now BSNL Broadband
Skyline BSNL VSAT Broadband is now BSNL VSAT
CellOne is now BSNL Mobile
Excel is also now BSNL Mobile
Tarang is now BSNL WLL
Bfone is now BSNL Landline
Sanchar Net is now BSNL Internet

A BSNL official added: “With so many operators vying for a market share in this highly competitive sector, it is important that BSNL does not confuse its subscribers with a large number of brand names. Uniform branding simplifies it and enables BSNL to stand out as well known brand across the country.”

The new brand identity would be effective starting next month.
