BSNL Landlines to come with Broadband connection now!
State owned telecom company BSNL has announced that they would no longer offer stand-alone landlines.
The customer instead would receive a broadband connection along with the connection. There would be no charges for activation of broadband connection.
Once the customer gets the connection he can activate the broadband connection anytime he desires.
BSNL has taken this decision to increase its broadband users base in the country. This new rule is applicable throughout the country.
They are also already working on making all existing connections broadband enabled. A company spokesperson said: The process is expected to be completed by the month-end, after which any landline subscriber of BSNL can log on to the internet without taking a Sancharnet connection and thereby avoiding the hassle of registration or taking a separate subscription package for the internet. However, the speeds here will be that of dial-up connection – at 56 Mkbps – and not at 256 Mkbps as provided through a broadband connection.”

ii) Rs. 100/- P.M. total concession on the “PACKAGE”
for SENIOR CITIZENS only to those who maintained
LAND LINES for more than 25 years, in the past,
without interruptions.
iii) Extend BROADBAND SERVICES through all BSNL LINES
falling in SINGUR BLOCK (Hooghly, West Bengal)
jurisdictions, in all exchanges. This is specially
important after SINGUR being declared as TATA
PROJECT AREA.
