Sify gives away 100 megs of webmail account for free. And their Customer Care Guy’s mail boxes bounces mails due to lack of space.

So, practically the official support guys for the biggest broadband providers have got mailboxes jammed.


5 days, 3 mails. No response.

this is when:

90% in 4 Hours and our team ensures it responds well within this service
timeframe.

My mail? Here is it:

From where I look at it, 32 and 48 kbps connections are with unlimited time and data transfer limits. the 6hr condition is only applied on the 64kbps line. right? i just need a confirmation.

Also, What is the minimum speed Sify promise on the 32+ package. Because I need a figure. 32+ tells me speeds should be at least 4KBps. And the problem is that during the day time, it sucks and hovers between 2 and 2.5 KBps. And the best thing is that I am not alone. No one I know on this package gets better than 2.5 KBps during day time. Care to clarify this? Because I plan to move on to the 48+ package next month… and I wont unless it actually gives me 6KBps+ speeds. Are the new packages planned to improve on speeds or decrease them? Coz as I look at it, they are slower than last month during the day time.

My problem?

I do not touch the bare minimum of 32kbps that they promise me on my package. Touching 2.5 KBps on a connection that is literarily called Broadband and theoretically 32kbps minimum is really sickening.

    keep away from sify broadband, its service is jus not upto the mark, they have failed in atleast my expectations, i never get the promised speed and thr r so many times that i m not able to open a single website.. moreover thr customer care is hopeless, they jus dont turn on to ur complaints , they will ignore u after traping u in thr net.. so i again warn u to keep away from sifybroadband.. it jus aint tht good

    I am a Sify broadband suscriber, user ID ‘kuster’. I am a suscriber for over 3 months now and my experience of been your customer has been frustrating and torturous.
    My purpose of taking the broadband connection was to able to connect at any time of day or night and also save on my phone bills. For the first 2 months, i had problem in connecting to the network EVERYDAY. So i had to call up the SSV cable office (27561818, 27561919) who provide us the SIFY connection, to make my complain. And often, when the connection could not be established even after a few hours of making the first complain i would call up again and again. I asked them the reason for such frequent failure. I was given varied reasons ranging from, there is a lot of excavation/digging on the roads, we are repairing connection boxes in preparation for the monsoons, power failure to one of the junction boxes through which the cable reaches my apartment. The ‘power failure to junction box’ was once used as an excuse and it was added that since the family isnt at home where the box is situated ‘we cannot do anything about it’. And then i had to go without connection for 24+ hrs. I really wonder if that is a justified reason for failure of a service that is being sold to ppl on the ground that it can be availed to at anytime of the day, 24*7.
    Day before yesterday (14/06/05), i wasnt able to connect to the network between about 3PM and 9PM. During this time i must have made atleast 5 calls. And at about 8:30 PM when i made the final call they also told me that mines isnt the only complain that they have to attend to. That clearly reflects on their attitude. All that SSV seems to be doing is earning on the customer base that they have without providing any service to them. There are many other customers who feel the same way.
    Once i had complained by calling up on 1600333330. The service person how came over, I asked him where the problem generally is, and i was told that, most of the time the problem lies with the local cable network. Now the question is, since SIFY have given the responsibilty of the local cable network to the SSV cable in this case, is SIFY absolved of any responsibilty, or it is also responsible for the failure of service. So far as i am concerned I am a SIFY suscriber.
    Also i had problem in renewing my accounts the first time. After having confirmed that i want to renew my account, my account was terminated. After making about a dozen calls to the SSV and sify, my account was revived. And now thats the account has been renewed, no one has come to collect the cheque for two months.
    Last but not the least i havent been able to connect to the network since yesterday (15/06/05) 3PM till now (6PM 16/06/05). I am sending this mail from a cyber cafe. My first complain call was made on 15/06/05 at about 3PM. My last complain call was on 16/06/05 at 4:30pm. And there is no action as yet (16/06/05, 6PM). As i told you i am frustrated by the careless and unprofessional attitude of the local cable operators so i dont intend to make any more complain calls, only wait and watch. This time i have also made a complain on 1600333330, complain no – 2081133. It is really very unfortunate for the customers that SIFY is the only broadband service provider here in C.B.D., else the solution to this problem would have been easy.
    I understand that one customer makes no difference to a big ISP, but if incase you intend to take note of this mail, then even i would like to know
    1. what measures have been taken to prevent such frequent failure in future and
    2. is anyone to be held responsible for the mindless failure, that has defeated the very purpose of taking a so called BROADBAND connection, viz 24 hrs connectivity and saving on phone calls. While adding to my woes.

    I am not happy with the sify broadband. I have sify broadband and I renewed my plan to a unlimited 64 KBPS 1 month plan, while purchasing it says that this plan is unlimted plans but they are not. The validity was for one moth but I download some data to it has gone down to 18 days.. this is really rediculas.. you people should clearly mention these things but you are hidding the this information just to cheat customer.

    These are just cheating technique. Bad internet speed, horrible customer service.

I have sify broadband and I renewed my plan to a unlimited 64 KBPS 1 month plan, while purchasing it says that this plan is unlimted plans but they are not.     Is there is any legal action we can do against SifyBroadband.
    I have renew the ‘Family Pack 2 months 265 kbps” UNLIMITED by using the sify client running on my system and paid from my credit card. As its UNLIMITED i thought i can download whatever amount I want. But its not the case, there is some hidden rules which you can find on someother place but not when u r taking the plan and u will suffer when you lost many days from the validity period and then talked to Customer care people.
    I would say please don’t use this service.

    sify sucks. frequent disconnections and bad customer service. speed is okay but it doesnt matter since the internet hardly works. somebody call the damn ceo of sify an register a complaint.

    im using sifnet ay my residence my user id is vs_mahendra
    there was some problem with that i have informed the local service provider and after that i have complaint to the sify also but no action has been taken so far why…..?
    i want sify officails to look into this matter and resolve it b4 i move to consumer court for my infringement of my right as a customer ..

    HORRORS OF SIFY VIZAG – A NEW LOW IN CUSTOMER CARE.

    Beware of Sify in Vizag. Here the service is run by a franchisee 'Vaishno Communications'. As is the habit of the obnoxious laid-back attitude of the person who work here in almost all the MNC brands, the same applies to Sify's functioning here.

    After getting sick & tired of making many complaints to their call centre- which I am sure not recorded or regsitered at all in the first place- I am constrained to use this blog to vent my anger.

    I am a hapless customer of Sify Broabdband. When I first applied for the connection, they promptly landed up near my doorstep to collect the money and then they dissappeared for a good 14 days despite my phone calls. Then they gave the connection and the very next day, the internet connection was gone.

    Just imagine when I got the internet back? After 27 days. Can you beat that? I mean are we living in some communist country? They are truly unashamed. They were indifferent to my outcry.

    Then, eventually they restored the connection and sent the monthly bill! and they gave me charity of 7 days paymnet waiver! I thought things would get normal. But I was wrong. Every Second Day the connection goes off.

    The longest period of Sify's continous connectivity was 4 days. That's it. The new trend is that when the connection is up and running, a guy from Sify would ring the bell and ask if the internet connection was okay. Once he leaves after 1 hour or so, the damn connection is off again.

    I can bet on this. Sify SUCKS big time. I don't know if the guys who are supposed to monitor these employees of the Franchisee are sleeping or just ignoring customers like us.

    Come festival time and the Sify Franchisee guys behave that it is their birth right NOT to attend to your complaint. Wait until the festival season is through! AND THEY GOD DAMN KEEP THE PHONE RECEIVERS OFF-HOOK! I TRIED FOR 45 MINUTES CONTINUOUSLY THEIR NUMBER. THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE TO AVOID ANY NEW COMPLAINTS OR FOLLOW-UPS JUST BEFORE THE BIG HOLIDAY SEASON.

    To top all this, when the payment date arrives, indicated by their client, when I call them to come and collect the payment, they don't and the connection gets expired and gets restored only after a day.

    Don't use sify supersaver pack.(Rs.17/hour)
    I was using the sify supersaver one hour-17rs. in a useless franchisee of iway adajan patia , surat.Just after login ,there was a failure of electric supply for 2 seconds and my whole pack value was seized ,because one have to continously use the pack for one hour. The shameless persons don't use a invertor as such and gives a reply of what can we do if the electricity is gone. THE COMPANY SHOULD GENUINELY TERMINATE THEIR CONTRACT AS THEY ARE IN A SERVICE INDUSTRY AND NOT A GOVERNMENT GRANTED INSTITUTE.

    Hi,

    My account id is sonal_18. I took Sify Broadband on 16th of June 2009 and had terrible problems thereafter.

    My connection used to get disconnected every 2 days and the reason i got was connectivity error because the

    franchisee people didn’t connect it properly.

    Ultimately on 30th of June 2009 i got my connection disconnected for 4th time which never returned before 4th of

    July for which i was promised extra time on broadband (never ever given).

    The most harrasing part is:
    1. I never got any refunds or extra hours.
    2. I had to call 1000 times to Sify and Franchisee and Sify people used to come during my office hours and say you

    are not in home how will we check?
    3. When asked to come at 6, very adamant and used to say working hours till 5 pm only.
    4. One day i had to stay at home for them the whole day waiting till 5 pm and then they arrived at 8 in the evening

    (after wasting my whole day) and restored my connection and even took a sign that it was my fault that i don’t stay

    at home during afternoon so my connection is restored after 4 days. What the hell man!!!
    5. The franchisee never picked up phone after 5 pm so no use of calling them after repeated disconnections.
    6. Call sify and they say will be solved within 24 hours which never happens as i explained.

    Atlast i asked for a refund and i was given the reply there is no refund of installation.

    I lost Rs. 520 (fee monthly), Rs. 100 (line maintenance), Rs. 500 installation. All in all Rs. 1120 lost.

    Ultimately i took Airtel Broadband and i am very happy with their service.

    The Franschise of Sify i am talking is at Jwala heri, Lamba Complex. People involved from their side:
    Sanjay:9212979764, Kamal:9250924362, Mr. Vijay from Sify:9711683301,9312041961 and Mr. Amit from Sify:9871778008.

    These people should be booked for Fraud before some other person is duped of his hard earned money.

    BEWARE OF SIFY AND NEVER TAKE THEIR SERVICES.
