India’s dominating mobile service provider Bharti Airtel has announced that their net profit went up by 73 percent from a year ago.
Incidentally, the company continued to impress despite ever increasing competition and lowering tariff rates in the market.
Vodafone recently entered the market by acquiring Hutch and they are likely to become their most fierce rivals in the coming years.
Bharti Airtel further said their profits were at US$403 million in the most recent financial quarter.
Company’s operating margins were up 42.8 percent during the July-September period.
Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of the Bharti Group said in a statement on these impressive results: “The quarter has seen telecom growth accelerate further, clearly demonstrating that the Indian telecom market still has a long way to go to achieve its full potential.”
