VSNL to be named Tata Communications Ltd.
Tata Group has announced that they are now going to rename their subsidiary Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL).
The new name decided is Tata Communications Ltd.
The company added that the company board has now given its approval for this brand name change.
VSNL CEO and MD N Srinath spoke on this new development: “The change in the company’s name is a major step in our commitment to customers, partners and stakeholders. Tata Communications reiterates a focus on the global communications business where we are a major player, at the same time, it reflects our strong heritage and leadership position in India.”
Tata said that the brand name change would reflect the brand equity of Tata group. They had acquired VSNL from the government around five years ago.
