MTNL launches Sarv Bhasha Sandesh service
Government owned telecom company MTNL has launched a new service for their mobile customers.
This new service has been named Sarv Bhasha Sandesh and it would enable the mobile users to send mobile text messages in local languages.
They are currently supporting as many as 11 Indian languages through this new service.
A company representative said: “This service gives the customers an opportunity to compose and send SMS in the language of their choice and thereby encourages the use of own mother-tongue such as Hindi and Tamil.”
It supports: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.
MTNL is hoping for a 10% increase in mobile text messages transfer with the launch of this new service.
