Golden Peacock Awards Committee, instituted by the Institute of Directors in 1991, awarded the ‘Golden Peacock Innovative Product Award -2007’ to Spice Mobiles Ltd. for their path breaking offering, D-88, the Dual Sim Phone (CDMA-GSM). The D-88 is a first of its kind in India. The award was presented by Chief Guest of the occasion, Justice R.C. Lahoti.

India’s first Dual Mode Phone, the D-88, has been awarded the coveted Golden Peacock. This is a worthy recognition for a truly unique product that enables both GSM and CDMA technologies to be active simultaneously in the same handset. The other variant in the category is the Spice Dual D-80, which supports two GSM + GSM active connections simultaneously. SPICE DUAL enables the user to make or receive calls from any SIM at anytime as well as receive and send SMS’s.

The ‘Golden Peacock Innovative Product Award for Industry Innovation is presented each year to companies for broader, more comprehensive participation in the industry and contributions to the advancement of the market.

Receiving the award, Mr. Kunal Ahooja said, “Innovation is the key platform for Spice Mobiles and this award has definitely boosted our morale.
