How tough is it to be not bad?

I have been online 24×7 for more than 2 years now. In these 2 years, I have had the chance to try out three separate ISPs. My first one was the local people providing internet connection. It was pathetic until the time they moved on the Bharti as their source for leased line. Next came Bharti TouchTel, which totally rocked and remains my best experience to stay online yet. Now it is of course Sify Broadband!

Sify happens to be one of the biggies of the IT Companies in India. They rank along with InfoSys and Wipro. For Christ’s sake, they are even listed on Nasdaq! How difficult can it for a company so technically capable to serve as a decent Net provider in India? In my 10 months of using them as my ISP, I have found them to be the least concerned about end customers. It took me 5 months to get the local network fixed for some decent reliability and that too happened when I had to pressurize the local CTO by repeatedly calling the Sify’s people in Chandigarh. Now, they fail to provide promised speeds and worst, their login client is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Their customer care is supposed to reply to queries within 4 hours… I get replies after days! One of my friends does not even get a reply.

How tough is it? To be nice! Someone needs to check out how companies like Google works…
