Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications cleared to launch IPTV Services
Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have now been given the go ahead to launch their IPTV services in the Indian market.
These services would now provide serious competition to the DTH service providers present in the country.
The permission was given after Telecom Regulatory Authority of India sent their recommendations to the ministry of information & broadcasting.
The Ministry has now said that telecom companies who already have relevant unified access service licenses and cellular mobile telephony service licenses can provide the service without any further registrations.
Bharti Airtel incidentally has already been testing IPTV in several locations in Gurgaon.
