Virgin Group to enter Indian Mobile Service Market
Virgin Group has announced their intentions to enter the Indian mobile service market.
The company is going to enter into a joint collaboration with Tata Teleservices for this venture.
Company boss Richard Branson said in a statement: “It’s a pain to do GSM at the moment because the network is completely full. If more capacity comes there, we plan to venture into that area as well.”
He added: “India is an exciting market. There are more than 215 million Indians aged between 14-25 years. Over the next three years, we expect this segment to be adding over 50 million new youth subscribers and to have revenues of over Rs 350 billion.”
The company has now plans to make available their products and services in over 1,000 cities nationwide by the end of the current year.
