India has around 114,000 RIM Blackberry users
Indian minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has been quoted as saying that the country has just around 114,000 mobile subscribers using RIM powered Blackberry services.
This is much lower than the figures quoted in the media. Media reports have been claiming around 400,000 BlackBerry users in India.

The Indian government has now directed the telecom companies in the market to block certain services provided to the users of Blackberry devices.
This ban would remain in place till the service providers put up the requisite monitoring systems in place.
